In terms of creativity, what inspires you the most?

For me, it's reading design books & magazines as well as seeing creative stuff in movies or in video games.

I'll second that Cixxy. And on top of your list I can add movies posters, cover arts and modern art all together. My very first designs (done in 1998 using mspaint rotfl) were inspired by Storm Thorgerson's cover arts he'd done for Pink Floyd. Amazing stuff!

Oh ya, love Pink Floyd's album covers, very innovative. Yeah, modern art is certainly very inspiring for me as well. The best one i been to was one in the Mori art museum in tokyo, show called Kaleidoscope , was epic

Whoaah! Love it, brings up Kubrick's "2001: Space Odyssey"! Fantastic piece. I'll go there one day, I promise, need some wonga first though Funnily enough Thorgerson designed the most recent cover arts for Muse 'The Resistance'. I was also deeply influenced by original Star Wars poster designs. I think they're just awesome and must've inspired thousands of artists worldwide.

Hmm that guy is a legendary designer indeed, along the lines of Paul rand and Josef muller-brockmann. His new work for muse is stunning, great how he kept up with technology.

Yea that poster has really good composition and its great considering the date of the design. I could see a new contemporary version just by updating the colours and keeping the composition as it is.

I know! It's brilliant, in my other post I've just mentioned Rodney Matthews, but there's another one who sprung in my mind, you've probably heard about an' all – Michael Whelan. His cover art for Stephen King's 'The Dark Tower' is a stroke of genius in my opinion. Nothing fancy, yet really powerful.

Hmm I believe this is more digital art, rather than graphic design, but its stuff like this that got me started on design in the first place. I'd love to draw spaceships and stuff like those. Heh if hell looked remotely anything like that, im going there! seems like an exciting place to be in
