Feeling like you’re in a creative slump? Don’t worry, it happens to the best of us. When your ideas are dry and your mind is a complete blank, most of you would just go watch a movie or even just go take a nap. Fear not, I have wrote down a list of innovative and great tips to kickstart your creativity once more!
10. Meditate
Meditation if done properly can make you feel refreshed, and give your brain a focused direction of creativity.
9. Burn your troubles
Troubles and stress that you might have can get in the way of a perfectly creative mind. Write down everything troubling you and burn it or flush it down a toilet. Write down your list of goals and deadlines and tick them off as they get complete, this will clear your mind and you would be more creative when you are less stressful.
8. Play and Create
Play with creative toys such as Lego or Tangram. Any music instruments could help as well. By messing with such things, your abstract thinking will improve, and who knows, you might think of something awesome while you’re messing around with toys! A good tip would be to keep toys like that around for when you are on a break, in the lounge area.
7. Change your Philosophy
Think as a punk rocker would. Don’t restrict yourself to any rules or regulations, but also of course, don’t do anything that’s against the law. Try to break out of the boundaries and this would also show in your designs.
6. Study Children’s Drawings

Yep, that’s right. Study drawings made by kids as they are the ones who have not much influence by rules and regulations as mentioned in #7. What they draw can be highly creative and inspiring.
5. Ask What If
There’s always a possibility for anything. Always keep that in mind and ask yourself “What If?”. If we told people 1000 years ago that there would be television, computers, mobiles, and people flying to the moon, they’d think that we are bonkers! Keep this notion in mind as anything could be possible in this world! So if you reflect this in your artworks, it will go a long way.
4. Get your Blood Flowing
Take a long hot shower or bath. Do some exercise. Once your blood is flowing your mood of being creative will also flow.
3. Experience New Things
Walking home? Try another route than where you usually walk. Haven’t tried, say, Korean food? Try it next time. Even subtle things you experience that are new will make you more creative.
2. Play God
This is just a theory of mine, but if you design in a well-lit room painted fully white and has absolutely no clutter, your creativity will be awesomely awesome. This is because being in a blank room gives you the notion that the world is a blank canvas, and whatever you design will influence that world. Another way this can help your creativity is that this makes you feel like there is nothing in the world that is bothering you.
1. Last Day
Death can be a very motivational tool. If a doctor told you that you had 10 days to live, what would you do? You would value those 10 days like they are the highest quality diamond in the world, right?
So if you make your mind think that you are going to die tomorrow, it might inspire you to create something beyond anything you have ever created.
